Parent-Led Training:
We have designed a special learning system based on drills and games, with the parent directly coaching the child. We guide the parents by showing them how to improve their child’s performance, how to correct them in a positive and effective manner, and give help as needed. Sometimes roles are switched, with the child leading the parent, thus creating confidence and enjoyment in seeing his parent as his equal. This personal, one-on-one training is more effective than regular group classes since the child receives immediate feedback from the parents as well as the teacher.
Parent-Child Bonding:
In additional to the physical benefits of learning self-defense, Krav & Cub offers children and parents an unique opportunity to bond over a mutual hobby and achieve mutual goals. As opposed to regular extracurricular activities, where the child participates alone, here the child and parent are working together to learn and grow. By watching his parent learn and grow, the child finds a new and unique appreciation for his parent that does not exist in traditional after-school activities.
Variety of Techniques:
In Krav & Cub, both parent and child will receive well-rounded training by learning a wide range of techniques. Our drills are specifically tailored to the technical needs of our students, while developing all aspects of their physical abilities. The mix of martial arts includes a varied range of techniques, including standing, sparring on the ground, and more. The majority of the drills are practiced in a fun way and presented as a game.
Real-World Defense Skills:
As opposed to some martial arts, Krav Maga focuses on actual and practical street fighting. One major advantage of the Krav & Cub program is the size difference: Children learn to defend themselves against assailants who are larger and stronger than they are. They learn how to defend themselves, and although this is usually associated with hostile and scary situations, it is conducted in an extremely fun and friendly way. Additionally, having a parent practice alongside the kids builds more confidence in the child and the parent
Improved Real-World Skills:
Krav & Cub improves the child’s ability to focus on the task at hand, which will translate into better focus in school and other activities. An important part of class is following instructions, both by the teacher and the parent, which will naturally expand into other aspects of the child’s life. Finally, by training directly with the parent, the child learns important teamwork skills, improving his relationship with his parent, but also with his peers.
Physical Training:
Martial arts in general, and Krav Maga in particular, help children develop their coordination, power, agility, flexibility, and balance. Krav & Cub is a complete body workout that will also help the child get into shape, as well as develop and sharpen their reflexes. By practicing Krav Maga and self defense techniques, the child will adopt them as instincts in the event that he will need to use them in real-life situations.
Motivation:
Watching the parent train with them gives children extra motivation to try and succeed. Parents become their child’s role model and help them succeed. Young children naturally want to be like their parents; Krav & Cub naturally steps into this role, giving the parent an opportunity to show their child that hard work will bring great results.
